New Beginnings
Welcome back, lovelies. It’s been a while. Five months, actually. I’m really bad at blogging.
Since we last spoke, I’ve graduated from university! I now have a bachelor’s degree in English with creative writing. People keep asking me if it feels any different to be graduated, and to be honest, it really doesn’t. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had an in-person class in a year now. School or no school, I’m still working on my computer from home, so it feels about the same.
My goals have shifted a bit now that I’ve been let loose from education institutions for a while. I’m currently pursuing a career in publishing, where I hope to work as a fiction editor. I’m applying to all sorts of internships and entry-level editorial jobs, but no luck yet. I’m also working on building my freelance portfolio—which brings me to my most important update!
You may have noticed that there’s a new tab on my website map called Editing. This page is dedicated to my freelance editing ventures. Keep an eye on it—it’ll change from time to time based on how booked I am. I’m passionate about helping you reach your creative potential and be the best writer you can be, which is why I’m so excited to be starting my editing career!
As always, I love to hear from you and I’m so thankful for your support. I hope everyone is keeping well and safe!
Until next time, loves.
December Update
Hello, friends!
It’s been a minute. Since September, actually. If you follow me on Instagram (@k.m.higginbotham), I think we’ve well established that I’m not good at keeping up with my personal social media accounts.
I’ll keep this one short and sweet for you.
Keeper: The Blood Revolution is out on Amazon now! The release date was pushed back from November to December 1st due to some issues with KDP, but it’s up now and ready for you to dive in. You can get it in paperback or ebook format (and if you’re local to North Alabama, I may have a few extra signed copies—shoot me an email).
Both of our book trailers are out, and they’re beautiful. I have no words for how well the production team did. You can find them on the Keeper book page, on my youtube channel, or on my instagram. All credit and information is in the descriptions. Go tell everyone how incredible they did!
I’m finally finished with the fall semester of uni (thank the Lord!) and I only have one more semester before I graduate! I’m currently working on Keeper: The Battle of Kingdoms (it’s going to be a hefty book, guys) and a few other writing projects. Hopefully, this book won’t take four years to publish (just kidding—but not really).
Thank you to everyone for your continued support. I’m always blown away to see the number of people that set aside time to read something I wrote!
Until next time, loves.
Merry Christmas!
Countdown to Keeper: The Blood Revolution
Four years later, it’s finally here. Keeper: The Blood Revolution will be available on Amazon on November 17th, 2020! That’s seven short weeks from now!
It’s been a long road. Between this book and the first Keeper, I’ve graduated high school, released an unrelated novel, started university, lived in the U.K. for a total of three semesters, and have moved back home to be with my family during the COVID-19 pandemic. I apologize for the long wait, but I’m glad to have had that time to improve my writing. The difference between Keeper: The Book of Aon and Keeper: The Blood Revolution is stark. Hopefully, you’ll still enjoy both books.
In addition to the new book, I’m re-releasing the first Keeper book with new interior formatting to match the second book as well as a lovely hand-drawn map! The paperback and ebook versions of Keeper will be available on November 17th, too.
Lots of things coming up between now and then—as you can see, we’ve got a delightful new website. Beyond that, I’m going to be all over social media for the new few weeks for instagram lives, the cover reveal, and a book giveaway (with lots of surprises!). Make sure you check my pages often so you don’t miss out!
The clock is ticking, guys, and I’ve got a lot to get done between now and the release. I’m so excited to be able to give you the next chapter of Elizabeth’s story, and I can’t wait to hear what you think!
